Chimney sweeping for Bath and the villages.
A standard sweep is £70. I use rods or a power sweep, whichever the flue needs, with dust sheets down and a vacuum. You get a smoke test, a carbon monoxide check and a certificate before I leave.
A straightforward sweep usually takes 40 to 60 minutes. I leave the room as it was before: perfectly tidy.
Accredited by the National Association of Chimney Sweeps. Public liability insured.
What £70 covers
One chimney. Open fires, woodburners, multi-fuel and pellet stoves, gas fires, Agas, Rayburns and inglenooks.
One chimney is £70. Extra chimneys on the same visit are £60 each, so two on one visit are £130. A nest, or anything that is not a straight sweep, I price before I come out.
Most insurers want a working chimney swept at least once a year, and they want the certificate. That is included. NACS guidance is a bit more particular: smokeless fuel at least once a year, and wood or house coal about every three months while you are burning it. Oil and gas, once a year. If it has been unused for a long time, sweep it before you light it. I will tell you on the day if yours needs doing sooner.

You get the certificate when the job is done. I take payment then, before I leave: cash, card or bank transfer.
Before I arrive, the fire needs to have been out for at least 24 hours, so the stove is cold, and a bit of space clear at the hearth.
